Rev. Edwin
D. Allen - BTh 1988 - MDiv 1998
I am about to
launch into my life's biggest adventure, outside of my
Marriage. I have been invited to go on a Mission Tour, with
Far Corners Ministry, to India in Feb. 2009... leaving in
the 19th and returning on the 6th of March. I will be
lecturing in Discipleship and Pastoral Ethics, to assist in
training approximately 150 lay Pastors in two Cities in
Northwestern Bengal and Sikkim Provinces, being Siliguri and
Gangtok. I have been privileged as well to be asked to
lecture in the Lay Pastors Training Program this year, in
"Caring for Congregations", in Halifax. I feel ministry is
such a privilege and am having such a wonderful time, even
as I have begun my 12th year in Barrington Passage and my
25th year in Ministry. My wife Karen and I have purchased a
home in Shelburne, about 30 kms away, from my parents
estate. It is located in the historic district of this
historic town and only only is 2 minutes walk from where we
moor our boat during the summers, when it is in the water.
Shelburne harbour is the 3rd finest natural harbour in the
world and a wonderful place to sail (Encyclopedia Britannica
and others). We hope to retire there someday, if the Lord
leads. These last months have had challenges with the loss
of my Mother in July '08 and the early purchase of the home,
but God is so good! (posted February, 2009)
